Nikolai

General Appearance: Nikolai is a medium height man of very clear Russian and Nordic ancestry. His face is rather severe in features, with a sharp chin and nose, and he has a tangled mess of blonde hair that he cuts himself to keep it in check. He is average weight, his lack of exercise counteracted by his tendency to barely eat. That being said, he has a soft spot for sweets and sugar, and will almost always have either a lollipop or a pieece of gum in his mouth. He wears a mechanic's uniform looted from an unlucky trespasser: A green jumpsuit with a ton of pockets, black rubber boots, and heavy leather gloves that he wears at all times except when typing. His eyes are sunken and have heavy bags under them due to his tendency to barely sleep, but the eyes themselves sparkle with innovation and mischief.

Nikolai's voice is a sharp, piercing drawl that can easily be heard and distinguished from a crowd. He has a very heavy Russian accent, which can make him hard to understand at some points, and has a tendency to revert to his native Russian language when stressed or overly excited. He also has very overexaggerated mannerisms, often flailing his arms about when trying to make a point.

Jurgas

General Appearance: Jurgas is the adult automaton, created originally to serve as a father figure for Nikolai and Juliya. Despite this, he was still a prototype, so many of his features are more mechanical and less convincingly human compared to Juliya. Jurgas is very tall and extremely thin, with a very lanky build and gaunt features. Most of his body, while covered with what appears to be skin, is still cold to the touch. He accommodates for this by covering a large amount of his body. He always wears a long sleeved red suit and black pants, with fancy black shoes and white gloves.

His face is almost always covered with a mask while he is out and about. The reason for this is that his face, while human in appearance, has issues with expression that put it into unnerving territory. Topping off his outfit is a black and red top hat, covering the extremely controlled grey wiring that passes for his hair. His voice box is deep and soothing, a fatherly tone that puts people at ease. Counteracting that, however, is his extremely mechanical mannerism that causes him to act erratically and stiffly in most scenarios. It’s only in battle that his actions become fluid. Notably, Jurgas was not built with any secondary sex characteristics; aside from his voice and the fact that he himself identifies as male, he is completely androgynous.

Juliya

General Appearance: Juliya is a later automaton, created to serve as the sibling that Nikolai wished that he had growing up. As a later model, she is significantly more human than Jurgas in her appearance. Juliya is a short girl appearing to be in her tweens, standing at much shorter than many of her peers. Her hair is ribbonlike and is various shades of blue, with darker shades as the background and lighter shades falling over it. Her face and body are extremely humanlike, from her mannerisms to her facial expressions to her actions. She can smile, laugh, cry, and even injure herself in a human way; if it weren’t for her weight and her piercing, mechanical red eyes, she could pass as a normal human in 90% of scenarios.

Her clothing of choice is a dark blue dress that she wears out at almost all times; when she ‘sleeps’ she will trade out her dress for a one piece pajama suit, but otherwise she wears the dress at all times. Her voice box is high pitched and girlish, with a distinct Russian accent and a sing-song tone at all times regardless of the contents of her speech. Notably, Juliya lacks any secondary sex characteristics; aside from her voice and the fact that she herself identifies as female, she is completely androgynous.

Nikolai

Personality: Nikolai is a sarcastic, twisted nihilist, who only looks out for his own gain. His motto is “morals are gated by money” and he applies this to every facet of his work. He will do anything for the right price, and knows that many others will do the same. Through bribes and his extreme hacking skill, he can gain access to just about anything on the Internet. Notably, he treats everything like a game; even when he’s breaking international law and messing with others, he’s laughing and quipping as though he was playing an online game. He secludes himself from most of the world, using Jurgas and Julia to travel in his place and hiding from society while he schemes. Notably, he's a bit of a germaphobe as well, often cleaning his hideout relentlessly when he's not hacking or scheming.

Every word out of Nikolai's mouth is either sarcastic, mocking, or lackadaisical. He masks any true emotions he might feel with those three things. When an emotion does manage to rise to the surface, it’s usually rage; Nikolai is relatively short-tempered, and will throw fits or outright leave when things become overwhelmingly difficult. When he doesn’t, it tends to lead to the area in question being flattened. The only time he drops all pretense is when talking with the closest things he has to friends and family: His automatons. Jurgas and Juliya, are extremely close to him, and he treats them simultaneously as his family and his most prized possessions. He is extremely protective of them (even when they might not want him to), and anybody who injures them becomes a target of his ire.
Personality Quirks: Nikolai’s laugh is distinctly hyena-like. His major quirk is a tendency to hoard cash and riches like a dragon would; he tries to amass as huge a fund as possible, and protects his ‘hoard’ with rabid vigilance.

Jurgas

Personality: Jurgas is a generally polite, soft-spoken man who is instilled with Nikolai’s hidden kinder side and the discipline drilled into him from the military. He treats everybody with respect and deference, not unlike a butler, and possesses a florid vocabulary and manner of speaking that gives off an air of education and poshness. As he was originally designed to be a father figure, he has strong paternal instincts, often taking care of people and animals that he views as ‘strays’. He often shows concern for Nikolai, particularly his tendency to mask his emotions behind an air of sarcasm, and will often patronize his Creator and attempt to get him to open up to others.

Despite his more mechanical and rigid mannerisms, he is as human in his mind as anybody else, and will insist upon his humanity if pressed. Despite this, he knows that his physical capabilities as an automaton are beyond those of the average person, and will not hesitate to use them to attempt to destroy anybody he views as an enemy. Even in the heat of battle, however, he will not discard his way of speaking. He has a knack for poetry, and enjoys reading poem anthologies in his spare time. He has a particular taste for rigid poetry forms, and despises free verse.
Personality Quirks: Jurgas’ laugh is a gentlemanly “ohoho,” with a bit of speaker static mixed in. He also has an intense fear of water, as he cannot swim and it causes his mechanical joints to rust.

Juliya

Personality: Juliya is a childlike, but overwhelmingly sadistic girl who Nikolai created to be the incarnation of his bloodlust. Her base nature is animalistic and violent, craving nothing but to feel the rush of battle and the happiness of victory. Having ‘grown up’ with Jurgas as a father figure, however, she has learned to mask her violent core behind an air of humanity. While she still has moments where she feels an overwhelming need to beat somebody into the ground, she can play the part of a normal girl fairly well and blend into her age group with minimal issues. Inevitably, however, her true self emerges and somebody gets hurt or killed. She may seem more human than Jurgas on the outside, but on the inside she is a beast.

Notably, Juliya doesn’t seem to quite understand the human condition. She understands that she is different from them as an automaton, but she cannot seem to see the insides of a human as anything other than a toy to be played with and torn apart. Blood and other wounds can drive her into a frenzy, causing her to rampage at the drop of a hat. The only ones that Juliya will never harm are Jurgas and Nikolai, her ‘father’ and ‘older brother’ respectively. She has a tendency to become infatuated with strong opponents, particularly ones that manage to defeat her, and can obsess over finding ways to break them.
Personality Quirks: Juliya’s laugh is a small “hehehe”. Her quirk is a hatred of bad smells; Nikolai gave her an enhanced sense of smell with the goal of her being able to sniff out opponents, but it only succeeded in making her more sensitive to all smells.

Home Town: St. Petersburg, Russia
Character History: Nikolai was born into a life of poverty and struggle. His father was completely absent, leaving him alone with an alcoholic and abusive mother. As one can imagine, this led to him having a twisted childhood and a warped personality from the very start. He learned very quickly that if he wanted to get anywhere with his life, he would have to do it himself; he would have no help. He strove in school and got near-perfect marks in most subjects, particularly when it came to computers and technology, but his obsession with perfection and his tendency towards violent outbursts ensured that he remained a friendless problem child for his school career.

Things took a sharp turn during his senior year in high school, where after a fierce blowout argument, he stabbed and killed his mother. In court, he revealed the extent of his mother’s abuse and claimed to have been acting in self defense. The court accepted the case, but Nikolai now had nowhere left to go. With few options left to him, he joined the military. The military was hell for him; he had never been an athletic child, and his issues with authority and never-ending sarcasm ensured that he had constant punishments throughout. He found himself wishing for death several times, and desperately tried to find a new path for himself.

He eventually found himself with a path, albeit by accident. When the incident swept through the world, giving people powers beyond human comprehension, Nikolai found himself with the ability to possess and create technological puppets. He quickly fled from military service in the chaos, finding himself an abandoned building where he could begin his work. Jurgas was the first automaton he ever built, created to be the father he never had and a voice of reason for the chaotic Nikolai. The two worked together and together, they tested and improved Nikolai’s abilities and found his limits. With their newfound knowledge, Nikolai set off on building another, more humanlike robot - the sibling he had always wanted, a partner in carnage and chaos. Thus, Juliya was born.

The trio now completed, Nikolai wasted no time in setting up. With their powers combined, getting their hands on a computer was easy; with access to the internet and his hacking ability, Nikolai set up a name for him and his robots: The Prizraki, ghosts of machinery that would do anything for a price. From there, the business only expanded. Now, they run a tidy mercenary business while eluding authorities, taking on almost any job they’re approached with for the appropriate price.
