Primary Skill: Electrostatic Stitching Empty
PostSubject: Primary Skill: Electrostatic Stitching   Primary Skill: Electrostatic Stitching EmptyMon Feb 27, 2017 6:14 pm

Skill Set Name: Electrostatic Stitching
Elemental Property: Lightning, Metal
Stat Specialization: Offense/Support
Skill Set Information: Electrostatic Stitching is Tessara’s magical ability. The ability is twofold, and relatively simple. The first ability is the power to create silklike metallic thread out of thin air using just the user’s innate magical energy, allowing the user to set traps and restrain enemies. The other ability of Electrostatic Stitching is the ability to infuse objects and people with electricity, simulating magnetic forces that can attract or repulse opponents and objects. By using the two abilities together, the user can set traps, shock opponents, and manipulate the battlefield using simulated magnetism.

Passives:

Silkwires: The user can extrude thin strands of silklike metal from their hands, and quickly stitch it into mundane objects and forms. This silk is fragile and easily breakable by anything sharp and conducts electricity. It is mostly used to quickly bandage wounds, set tripwires, or create small trinkets for selling.

Electromagnetism: Tessara naturally exudes a repulsing magnetic aura, slowing or stopping metallic objects  that were not created by her other abilities. This prevents her from wielding conventional metallic weaponry or armor, but also reduces the damage she takes from them according to the below chart:

4 Ranks or more below Tessara: No damage taken, the objects in question go flying away
3 Ranks below Tessara: 60% damage reduction
2 Ranks below Tessara: 40% damage reduction
1 Rank below Tessara: 30% damage reduction
At Tessara’s Rank: 20% damage reduction
Above Tessara’s Rank: No damage reduction

Wired: Tessara’s electrical current runs through her body as well, allowing her to use her ability to manually control her body even when the normal pathways are cut. Tessara can continue to move her body parts even when they are broken or would otherwise be rendered immobile, at a cost of 5 VP per post per debilitating wound.

Skill Set Strengths:

> Static Battery: As a magic user of both electricity and metal, Tessara has a natural 25% resistance to magical abilities that include metal or lightning in them.
> Stitcher: Given enough time and a willing/incapacitated subject, Tessara can perform stitching surgeries on people using her Silkwires. Uses range from sowing shut wounds, to reattaching lost digits and arms using her metal-conducting wires as substitute nerve endings, to sowing shut already open orifices as a form of torture.

Skill Set Weakness:

> Metal Mishaps: Tessara’s natural electromagnetism interferes with any metal around her, even ones that she would otherwise be able to use. Tessara cannot use/wield traditional metal weapons, armor, or other items that include metal.
> Grounded: Tessara’s electricity has vastly reduced effectiveness (-50% damage) against dirt, rock, and other elements of earth.

Technique Name: Voltage Blade
Technique Rank F
Technique Focus Attack
Technique's Duration 3 posts
Technique Description: Tessara wraps her Silkwires around an object that she would be able to carry and runs a current through them, turning them into a stun baton. Any person other than Tessara that comes into contact with the object while this is active takes damage as though the object was an F-Rank weapon and Tessara had swung at them. This ability is canceled if Tessara loses her grip on the object.

Technique Name: Quick Stitch: Overload Patch
Technique Rank F
Technique Focus Speed
Technique's Duration 2 posts
Technique Description: Tessara extrudes some Silkwires, stitches it into a medical patch, and imbues it with electrical energy. Any creature wearing the patch gains +10 speed for the duration, including Tessara. If anybody other than Tessara wears it, however, they take 5 HP damage each post they wear it.

Technique Name: Zapwire
Technique Rank F
Technique Focus Attack
Technique's Duration 1 post
Technique Description: Tessara launches a charged rope of Silkwire from her body at a place within 20m. If a target is struck, the wire wraps around it, dealing a quarter of Tessara’s attack in damage and immobilizing the target for a post. Tessara can use the wire to either pull herself to the location or, if the target is a person whose attack stat is lower than Tessara’s, pull the target to her.

Just a few quick fixes and I think that this will be ready for approval.

As per my standard - See my bold sections for issues, and the italics next to them for suggestions/comments.

4 Ranks or more below Tessara: No damage taken, the objects in question go flying away
3 Ranks below Tessara: 80% damage reduction
2 Ranks below Tessara: 60% damage reduction
1 Rank below Tessara: 40% damage reduction
At Tessara’s Rank: 20% damage reduction
Above Tessara’s Rank: No damage reduction
- I like the idea here, but I believe that the numbers for damage reduction at one and two ranks could use a little lowering, perhaps to 30 and 40% respectively, with 3 ranks being 60% and 4 ranks being null.
Wired: Tessara’s electrical current runs through her body as well, allowing her to use her ability to manually control her body even when the normal pathways are cut. Tessara can use the wire to either pull herself to the location or, if the target is a person whose attack stat is lower than Tessara’s, pull the target to her. This one is nearly fine, although I believe that the damage - being an F Rank, should be lowered to a quarter of the user's attack. Everything else is fine.
